CHARLES HAYKEL NAMED TO PRODUCE, DANETTE HERMAN AS CO-PRODUCER, AND JULIANE HARE AS CONSULTING PRODUCER “61ST PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS”

Executive Producer Don Mischer Announces
Renowned Producers for CBS’ Sept. 20 Telecast

North Hollywood, CA, July 15, 2009 –Charles Haykel, Danette Herman and Juliane Hare have been named to the 61st Primetime Emmy® Awards production team, Executive Producer Don Mischer announced today.  Haykel will serve as producer, Herman as coordinating producer and Hare as consulting producer of the telecast airing Sunday, Sept. 20

(8:00 -11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on CBS from the NOKIA Theater in Los Angeles. 

“We have a great team here that has a major track record in producing live, mega-events—including a number of Emmy Awards,” said Mischer.  “We are all eager to get going after Thursday’s announcement of nominations.”

 

Haykel, the new producer, has more than 17 years of experience working on shows with some of the greatest talents in entertainment and has enjoyed a longstanding working relationship with Mischer. Their most recent collaboration was the HBO special, We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial

In addition to executive producing the 2007 Miss America Pageant, Moving Image Salutes Will Smith and BRAVO’s2008 A-List Awards, he has produced the 2005 and 2006 Super Bowl  Halftime Shows (Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones) and the 2004 Democratic National Convention.  Haykel’s other producing credits include NBC’s The Singing Bee, ABC’s The Wayne Brady Show and specials; Movies Rock, Fashion Rocks 5, John Leguizamo’s Sexaholix, Christmas in Washington and CBS’ The Tony Awards. He was also part of the producing teams for the millennium documentary by Steven Spielberg titled, The Unfinished Journey and the independent feature film, Bad City Blues.

Co-Producer Danette Herman has long associations with some of television’s biggest productions.  This will be her 21st year as a key member of the Primetime Emmy production team.  She recently completed the 81st Annual Academy Awards telecast, her 34th non-consecutive show and her 31st year with The Kennedy Center Honors.  She also worked on Stand Up to Cancer, the unprecedented television special that aired simultaneously on ABC, CBS and NBC to raise funds for the fight against cancer.

Newly named Consulting Producer Juliane Hare has also worked on a number of projects with Mischer, including serving as executive producer of Moving Images Salutes Will Smith, the 2007 Miss America Pageant and Moving Images Salutes Ron Howard.  Among her other production credits are Fashion Rocks 5, Movies Rock, From the Top at Carnegie Hall, We are the One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, James Taylor: One Man Band, 2007 Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show (Prince), 2006 Super Bowl Pre-Game & Halftime Show (The Rolling Stones), 2005 Super Bowl Pre-Game and Halftime Show (Paul McCartney) and the 2004 Democratic Convention. 

The 61st PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS is being produced by Don Mischer Productions.  Nominations for the 61st PRIMETIME EMMY AWARDS will be announced on July 16 at
5:40 a.m. (PT) from the Television Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood. Nominations will be streamed live at  www.emmys.com.
